Literal meaning:
- A unique bird that lived for 5 or 6 centuries in the Arabian desert, after its life it burns itself and raises from the ashes with a renewed youth to live again.
- Phoenix endures the worn path in order to aid her grandson with medicine from town. She rejuvenates her soul by traveling this path and expresses her charity and courage through the hunter she met and the clinic employees. She never stops traveling this path and her feet have enough knowledge and youth to memorize the journey in order to remember her love for her grandson.
- “Not surprisingly, early Christian writers construed the phoenix as a symbol not only of resurrection in general but also of Christ himself and his resurrection in particular.” The town season is currently during the Christmas season. "In the paved city it was Christmas time. There were red and green electric lights strung and crisscrossed everywhere, and all turned on in the daytime." This time represents where Phoenix is giving an act of christian charity. She symbolizes the image of Christ and when she enters the town people tie her shoes, give her money almost praising her for her good acts like people did with Jesus.
